Checked Furnace, Found Control Board To Be Running Draft Inducer And Pulling In Pressure Switch But Board Will Not Turn On Gas Valve. Changed Control Board And Furnace Ran Ok For A Bit Then Was Fluttering On The Pressure Switch. Went Outside And Heard Water In The Flue Pipe. Found Out From Customer That He Had A New Roof Put On And New Flu Pipes Ran. The Flues Were Not Installed Correctly.

The Unit Was Not Working When I Arrived. The Burners Will Ignite, But The Blower Fan Will Not Come On. I Tried To Change The Settings Of The Blower Fan And It Would Not Come On. I Tried To Call Only For Fan, But The Blower Would Still Not Come On. The ECM Motor Has Failed. Replaced The ECM Motor But The Motor Would Not Spin. The Furnace Contains 2 Control Boards, An Ignition Board And A Motor Board. The Ignition Is Connected To The Motor Board With An Expansion Cable. In Contacting Nordyne Tech Support To Verify Which Board Has Failed.

I Talked To The Service Tech At Nordine Over The Phone. CASE # : 598416 I Told The Service Tech That The Furnace Was Receiving 139 V. I Asked The Tech How To Determine Where The Failure Is, If The Failure Is In The ECM Motor, The Motor Control Board, Or The Ignition Control Board. He Said That If The Fan Is Not Starting For A Call For The Fan And All Of The LED Lights Display No Faults, Then, More Than Likely The ECM Motor, The Ignition Board, And The Motor Control Board Will All Need To Be Replaced. The Furnace Is 10 Years Old And The Cost Of Repair Versus Replacement Will Be About 30% Of The Cost Of A Brand New Furnace. I Discussed The Customers Options. I Told Him I Will Continue To Repair The Furnace, But We Will Probably Have To Wait For The Motor Control Board Before The Furnace Will Function.
